Hyundai Getz Review
http://www.cars4women.co.za/articles/216/1/Hyundai-Getz-review--You-gotta-get-one/Page1.html
Heléne Griffiths reviews the Hyundai Getz - the biggest selling model in the Hyundai range - and says that if she got commission each time she recommended the Hyundai Getz to women, she would have enough money to buy her own!
Since the introduction of the popular Hyundai Getz at the Geneva Motor Show in 2002, over 600 000 units have been sold world-wide. My daughter-in-law bought the previous 1.3 model on my recommendation in 2004 and is still happy with her car. The engine is still sound, not a rust mark in sight - the only problem is a slight leak at the back door when it rains.
Hyundai Getz got a facelift in 2006

As we have had so many requests on the site for a Getz review, Hyundai kindly let me have one for a refresher road test just before Christmas. The test vehicle had temporary paper number plates and I had to smile when my granddaughter got very excited as she thought her granny had bought a car like her mother’s!
'New-look' Hyundai Getz features great changes
I really like the ‘new-look’ Hyundai Getz, especially the unified nature of the grille, front headlights and bumper arrangement. Somehow it is sporty looking with the wraparound headlamps, black bumper inserts and front bumper with integrated fog lamps.
The face-lift also included interior changes like the improved texture fascia of the facia, the re-designed instrument panel and centre console that features a new digital clock and a more visible hazard warning button. I like the layout of the instrument panel and the round faces as well as the digital odometer in the centre, make for easy reading. The dashboard is attractive, with an indent on top where one can place something like a mapbook without it sliding off.
60/40 split a women-friendly feature
The only niggly thing, in my opinion, is that the clutch pedal is very high. This could, however, be a good thing as women in general, tend to ‘rest’ their left foot on the clutch whilst driving, and this will certainly get them to move that foot off the clutch otherwise they will end up with a sore ankle!
Designed for maximum safety protection
Occupant protection has been further augmented by strengthening the dual height, high-efficiency side impact protection bars. The 1.4-litre entry level model (R109 900) features a de-powered driver airbag and the test car, the 1.4 high spec derivative (R123 400), has, like the rest of the range, dual airbags as part of the safety package.
Hyundai's new five-year warranty included
The Hyundai Getz also comes standard with Hyundai’s new 5-year/150 000km warranty.
Thumbs up once again - no wonder so many women own a Hyundai Getz ....... it only Getz better!
